The Brown-Spotted Spinefoot is a stunning fish that is not common in the Marine Aquarium hobby, this rabbitfish covered in small close-set dark brown to black spots with white areas between forming a "honeycomb" pattern, black spots on fins, caudal fin and trailing edges of dorsal and anal fins with a whitish margin, and often a pale whitish to yellowish saddle on the tail fin.

Like other Rabbitfishes, the Brown-Spotted Spinefoot have venomous fin spines that may inflict a painful injury. Care should be taken when handling this fish.
