Chaetomorpha
Chaetomorpha linium
Reef Tank Suitable, Fish-Only Tank Suitable
Notes:
Used in aquaria as a method of filtering nutrients in the water. Very hardy and unlike Caulerpa will not go sexual. When used as filtration it can become home to pods and other small invertebrates. Fast grower. Chaetomorpha Algae, also known as Spaghetti Algae or Green Hair Algae, is an excellent macro algae for refugiums. Each cell grows end to end, creating long, stiff strands. It grows in filamentous clumps, resembling a ball of fishing line. Chaetomorpha is a fast growing, hardy algae that is normally grown in a refugium where it absorbs nitrate and phosphate out of the water as it grows. Additionally this algae is a great habitat for microfauna such as copepods and amphipods to reside and populate.
Chaetomorpha Algae removes both phosphates and nitrates from the water. To increase the amount of nutrients this algae exports, use moderate to high lighting and keep it in an area of high water flow.
We ship a tennis ball size of Chaeto with each purchase. This should be enough to start a refugium. The point of keeping chaeto is to get it to grow so you can harvest portions of it; removing "bound" nutrients. It serves little purpose to start off with a large amount of chaeto so you should probably only get 1-2 of this product at most.

Green Hair Algae
I Bought 1 portion of this. Got a very nice size, looks great in the aquarium, I have it pushed up next to a rock cave and the Pipefish love it, I think it has a nice population of Copepods now

Arrived alive
I ordered a clean up crew and some Chaeto and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The Chaeto was clean and healthy. Very friendly staff too. They called the day before to make sure the delivery time was good, so that my clean up crew didn't hang out on my porch in the sun
