Sea Hare
(Dolabella auricularia)
The Sea Hare also know as the Wedge Sea Hare is great at eating algae, including green hair algae, as a matter a fact they normally can clean a tank within days and then would need to be fed supplemental algae such as Caulerpa.
If it becomes startled the Sea Hare may release a purple dye to repel attacking fish. In the home aquarium the aquarium will need a good chemical filter system to quickly remove this toxic dye before it causes problems.
If regular feedings of Caulerpa are not possible, it will need a supplemented diet of parboiled lettuce and dried kelp.

Hobbiest
I recieved a Wedge Sea Hare (Dolabella auricularia). I am in love ??????. I QT all new invertebrates in a 13 gallon tank. I have gotten to know he/she quite well. It eats out of my fingers and sometimes it licks my fingers too. it loves hair algae and soft Marco algae. She arrived in perfect condition and very healthy. I have had her over a month and it is thriving.

Sea Hare
This little fellow came healthy and larger than I expected. He/she is happily munching on the algae that I have been fighting in my tank and has already done a great job with it. I am seeing egg strands, so sincerely hope some of these eggs are viable because I really love my sea hare.

Got exactly what I was looking for
Got this little dude for a hair algae problem, and it has left its path completely bare behind it, I’m actually amazed at how great it is at demolishing hair algae. They go through a lot very quickly, so I’m expecting to be feeding some Nori once I run out of algae as well as getting more live macros for the fuge.
