Adults have two greenish to yellow and even purple shaded markings running the length of the body. Individuals can differ greatly in color and markings depending on habitat, phase and mating.
The Slippery Dick is found in the shallow waters of the Caribbean in small groups grazing for small invertebrates. In the home aquarium, keep this fish with other semi-aggressive fish along the lines of squirrelfish and others with a different body shape. Have lots of good hiding places and thick sandy substrate. Will eat smaller invertebrates.
The Slippery Dick Wrasse diet should include vitamin enriched frozen mysis
shrimp, vitamin enriched frozen brine shrimp, and other meaty foods along with
a high-quality marine flake and marine pellet food.
